Welcoming Florence Crittenton to the CPLC Familia
7th Oct 2021
We are excited to announce that Florence Crittenton is now part of the CPLC Familia!
Florence Crittenton is Arizona’s second-oldest social services agency and was founded by Charles Crittenton in 1896 in memory of his daughter Florence, who died of scarlet fever. Florence Crittenton serves girls and young women ages 10-25, with a mission to provide every girl whose life we touch with safety, hope and opportunity. In service to this mission, Florence Crittenton provides emergency shelter, residential housing, healthcare, education, counseling, and social support programs.
Additionally, the Girls’ Leadership Academy of Arizona (GLAAZ), formerly an Arizona charter school for girls under Florence Crittenton, continues under the supervision of the existing Florence Crittenton school board and is now supported by and consolidated under CPLC Community Schools.
In the words of Chicanos por La Causa President & CEO, David Adame, “At the heart of this union is the clear alignment of our missions and the unwavering commitment to provide uninterrupted, quality services when our young women need it most.”
We look forward working together to expand our positive impact on girls and young women in need.
